Jelly Bean Portrait Of Queen To Debut At Golden Jubilee
FAIRFIELD, Calif. (Wireless Flash) Lots of folks will be celebrating Queen Elizabeth IIs Golden Jubilee, but the sweetest tribute yet is an all-jelly bean portrait. San Francisco artist Roger Rocha was commissioned to do the 4 ft. by 4 ft., 10,000 jelly bean rendering, which will be displayed in Londons Oxford Street starting tomorrow (Jun. 1). However, a spokesman for the Jelly Belly jelly bean company says he hopes the portrait doesnt run into what could be its undoing hungry children. Pete Heeley says Jelly Belly has decided to put the portrait behind glass, so kids wont snatch any jellies, but not only because it would ruin the art Heeley says the plastic coating on the candy could also make kids very sick.
