Pierced Teens Face Unemployment This Summer

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Here are some piercing words for teens with piercings: You’re going to be unemployed this summer. Renee Ward, founder of the teen hiring service teens4hire.com, says while mainstream America may accept pierced people, most employers are still pretty conservative and won’t hire a kid who comes to an interview with a “shocking tongue or nose ring.” Ward suggests teens take their piercings out, leave the rebellious attitudes at home, and just be themselves on their own time. She admits some jobs are body jewelry friendly, but most of them are less- social, hard labor jobs like stock room and warehouse positions that teens usually turn up their noses at.
