ANTI-BOOZE GROUP CHEWS OUT MAKER OF BEER-FLAVORED GUM
IRVING, Texas (Wireless Flash) An Indiana mans plan to market beer-flavored gum to children is causing a brouhaha with Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. M.A.D.D.s national director, Millie Webb, worries that a beer- flavored gum will promote underage drinking by helping kids develop a taste for beer and says the idea is as dangerous as offering nicotine gum to teens. The inventor of the gum insists his product isnt meant to encourage underage boozing because its non-alcoholic and a good source of B- vitamins. MADD suggests parents help their children get B-vitamins from other sources besides beer-flavored gum.
