Dukes of Hazzards Cooter: Dukes Has Gone International
GATLINBURG, Tenn. (Wireless Flash) The Dukes of Hazzard might have celebrated rural America, but now its gone international. Thats according to Ben Jones, who played Cooter on the show and currently runs a Hazzard-themed cabaret in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Jones says Cooters Place is constantly filled with people from all over the world coming in to get a glimpse of Hazzard county and meet a piece of its history. He says the main appeal to foreign folks is that the show celebrates the old American spaghetti western spirit only it substitutes muscle cars for horses. Jones will open a new Cooters Place location on Saturday (May 4) in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and hopes to get visitors from another nearby American icon Dollywood.
