AUSTIN, Texas (Wireless Flash) – Don’t get cross, but a man in Austin, Texas, claims the confession booth is the top pick-up spot for Catholic priests. Brian Schwab, author of a new book, The Sacred Robe (Phenix & Phenix), about Catholic Church child abuse in Australia, says many pervy priests discover their teenage targets during confession. For instance, Schwab says if a kid confesses to reading Playboy, a priest might “promise to cure him” and use booze, porn videos and communal showers to coerce a sexual relationship. Other priests don’t mince words. Schwab claims one priest told teenage boys that kissing his sex organ is “like kissing Jesus.” Although the church sex scandal has mostly focused on the U.S., Schwab says the fact his research is from Australia proves the scandal is of global proportions.
