Here's what you can do:

·         Don't Pay the Refuse Charge Double Tax & don’t sign anything

·         Ignore any letters from the Council and/or Private Waste Contractors

·         Petition/Lobby your local Councillors & TD’s to abolish these illegal Bin Charges and remove Incineration 

·         Use your vote in the next election to dump out those who voted for these illegal refuse charges & those who are PRO-Incineration.

·         Stay informed of developments via this website

·         Encourage others to join the campaign and not to pay the charges.

·         Find out how and why these illegal bin charges got introduced.

Don't leave it up to others. Take even any one of the small steps above or go to a public meeting in your area.

These Bin Charges are unjust and illegal and have been brought in un-democratically. Democracy does not end at the polling booth. If you want to have a democratic society, decisions can't be handed over en-block to others for periods of four years at a time. It requires every citizen to become involved. This is the price you have to pay. Bin Charges are not just the only cost of an undemocratic society; pollution, bad health services, corruption, costly education, blood-bank scandals, increased crime and ultimately wars that nobody wants, are the price otherwise.
