WARNING! There are a lot of ignorant and/or malicious people out there
who try to disguise themselves as friends of liberty. Why would I give them
"free advertising" here? Because the cure for bad speech is more speech,
not silence. More interracial relationships, more
freedom of thought, less blind adherence to tradition, less judging people by
stupid criteria like their age, race, sex, or how many letters they have after
their name! One of the prime tenets of the
hacker
ethic is that
individuals should be judged solely by their ability.
Because of the following link, this webpage is deemed by current German law
to be
"promoting a terrorist
organization", and may not be legally acccessed in Germany:
Lebt und lest radikal!
(Which merely means, "Live radically, and read _Radikal_.") This link is
provided solely as a protest against censorship, and is not an endorsement
of the censored material.
Exercise your right of civil disobedience, however slightly, by taking
advantage of annoy.com.
Corporate action can never be censorship, since only governments can
"censor", by definition. But that don't necessarily make their actions
ethical or lawful. So in addition to government threats to free expression,
I'll try to keep track of some of the more notable corporate ones as well.
You've got to start somewhere...
