This scene shows a few custom skins for Quake II. That's Sydney on the left, an "action male" in back, an SAS officer up front, and someone from the wasteland on the right. Many models and skins come with the "Action Quake" modification, and others can be downloaded individually from Quake gaming sites. To see what skins other players may be using during a game, just open the console and type "skins". You will get a list of all players and the skins they have selected. To set your skin, just type set skin "directory/skinname". The models and skins need to be in a directory C:\Quake2\baseq2\players\(name of model here). You can put an alias in your autoexec.cfg to change your skin at the push of a button. You could even cycle through several skins while you are playing and change your appearance right before your opponents eyes. When I get a chance, I'll post my autoexec as an example. (of course the bad thing about the whole skin system is that the other players need to have the skin installed. So check those skin lists while you are playing and download the popular skins)

The scene above was created with QSB (Quake Scene Builder). It lets you open up models, objects, and textures,  and you can run the animations for the models. Then you can take screenshots from any angle and use the images however you like. If you take multiple images from the animation sequences, you can turn them into animated gif's (need a gif program) like the one on my homepage.

I am going to post a list of useful Quake2 links here:
