hi. yesterday was australia day (celebrating the day captain cook "discovered" australia). which also means time for the hottest 100 on triplej. basically counting down the 100 most popular songs of 2005 as chosen by listeners. a big let down was the fact that bernard fanning (lead singer of powderfinger, a brisbane band) came in at the top spot which was more greatly deserved by wolfmother or the white stripes(whom i love!!!). a few dramatic events happened on the day also. one of them being that our bbq caught on fire and the flames almost engulfed our verandah!!! we got it under control fairly quickly though, phew! the other being my brother's dog tish was hit by a car!!! she was very lucky because she was between the wheels, but the trailer on the back of the car rolled her around and gave her a couple of good scratches on her head. poor tish was in shock, and so was my brother. we live on a fairly busy main road in brisbane and she just ran into traffic, not very road smart of her. the driver who hit her just kept on going too, without checking if she was okay, which was irresponsible and cruel of him/her. in other news, big day out was fucking fantastic once again, even with the power shortage for about an hour. this just gave us a chance to chill out and have a few more beers in the shade. the highlight being the white stripes as headliners. ryan and i have been dying to see them and now we have. it was a really fun day! other top acts were the hilltop hoods, wolfmother, the living end and airbourne who, now i think of it, are all great australian acts (apart from the stripes). the australian music scene is so fantastic and under-rated i think. anyway, i must run to work or i'll be late. take care, feel free to drop by my guestbook or throw me an email. peace!

happy new year guys. i hope you all had a great holiday if you had one. we had a really relaxing time which was spent drinking, watching tv and taking advantage of pub airconditioning. xmas day was really good. all the parents behaved themselves and we all drank and ate way too much. scored quite a few good presents too. ryan received 200 bucks worth of gift money which i helped him spend on 17 new dvd's for our collection. lots of classics including pulp fiction, snatch, lock, stock and two smoking barrels, reservoir dogs, the neverending story, watership down, a manson tour movie, joe's apartment, bad taste, team america, shaun of the dead and fear and loathing in las vegas. our new years eve was relatively quiet but still alot of fun! i'll post a few pics soon. ryan and i bought everyone party bags with crappy little things like champagne bubbles, lais, party horns etc in them. we also bought everyone fluro plastic half-yard glasses with straws to suck on all night. they were a great hit and well used!!! my cuz tane made a sparkler 'bomb' to let off at midnight, it was really cool. anyway, start work soon. i'll catch you fools later!!

well hello strangers. yes it's true, mungbean express is up and running once again. this is approx. version 4 or 5... since i last wrote (almost two years ago) i've become a married woman, a full-time worker and a house owner! so alot is going on. i'm hoping people will notice the express is being updated once more and check out my new guestbook. it's empty at the moment and looks a little sad so sign with comments or suggestions or just to say hi. i'm looking forward to xmas, ryan and i are having it at our place this year, because we just bought our first home. this is proving to be a bit more stressful than i'd first thought! still need to get the obligatory kitsch xmas plates and cutlery.. i've ordered the ham, bought alot of snacks and we just received our jack daniels pack from chrisco so we're all set for the festive season. the weather is gearing up for sure, is meant to reach around 39 degrees celsius, love that summer burn! well, i'm off to find some of my old internet buddies. will update soon.

Ahhh let me out! I'm going mad!
