Bouts Rimes and Weather

This may officially be Sunday's entry, but those of you reading this as I put the entry up, as opposed to future readers checking out the archives -- hi, future readers! -- know that it's actually Friday afternoon right now, and that I'm in the middle of clearing away yet another backlog.

With Shabbos starting in about an hour for now, I'm not in the mood for another heavy entry. I want to write something light and fluffy.

It occurs to me that I haven't written any "Bouts Rimes" in ages.

Little Lamb, who made thee?
Are you still under warranty?

I want a hero; an uncommon want;
The deli's the answer for this bon vivant!

I wandered lonely as a cloud,
My friends I mist; my rain so proud...

Okay, when I start resorting to bad puns, I suppose I'd better stop. :-)

In other news, I love the weather we've been having lately (remember, I'm writing this on Friday, and breaking my own rules for a change, and not even trying to stick to what happened by this past Sunday), but I need a fan. Um, the sort that circulates air, that is. See, it's been a bit hot lately, at last! And as long as I'm outdoors, I'm fine with that; it hasn't been too humid, and sweating's not really a problem because it evaporates immediately anyway. You just have to be sure to drink a lot, which I do anyway, so that's fine.

Indoors, however, there's no breeze, the air just sits there, and you get to sweat more than a little. So it's not all that fun. I do have a couple of windows, but, again, without a breeze in the right direction, keeping them open doesn't help that much. Also, keeping them open would require that I be dressed decently (you never know if there's a Peeping Tom in the house across the way), and that would interfere with my other strategy for beating the heat. So, um, I need a fan. :-)

Not that I really mean to complain. In general, I like hot weather ever so much more than I like cold weather. (Which isn't too hard, because I detest cold weather.) The only catch is that at least my apartment has heating, so I can do something about the cold. Air-conditioning is another story, though.

Anyway, have a good weekend, guys. I'll be back soon, with the tentative plan being to write about what I did on Monday in the following entry, followed by a return to the Judaism stuff in the entry after that. But, then, I never expected this entry to turn out the way it did, so you never know. Stay tuned. :-)
