Rambling

For the benefit of anybody coming in after the fact, I'd just like to point out that the last four "July" entries were actually written on August 8th, back when I was still trying to catch up. So while I got behind on this thing, I hadn't actually managed to go two weeks without a single post.

And that's the last thing I'm going to say on the whole wretched subject for awhile. Really. You can come back out now.

So, it's Friday the Thirteenth today. Probably ought to make me nervous about whether the printers will have my camp newspaper done in time, but a crisis in that regard would be par for the course. Almost every week has had some sort of crisis, from the week their machines broke down, and they claimed they couldn't have it ready until an hour after camp ended (my boss got them to get it done earlier, and we got it at the last second and distributed the copies as the campers were getting on the buses to go home); to the week they only printed half the number of copies we needed (we called and got them to print the other half, again, just in the nick of time -- we left before the print run was completely finished, in fact, but it was close enough); to the week they couldn't handle it and we zoomed off to another printer instead.

I won't even mention such minor annoyances as pages being printed out of order, or copies being printed single-sided instead of double-sided. Those are nothing.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what happens this week. There's a two-page advertisement in there that's supposed to be printed on colored paper, instead of the white paper the rest is printed on. That's where I predict trouble this time. But we'll see.

My brother's getting married on Sunday, in Boston. Most of the rest of the family is en route there as I type this, late Friday morning. It turns out that rather than flying there, as I'd originally planned, I'll be taking a bus that's being chartered for friends and family. It leaves from Far Rockaway early Sunday morning, so to make things simpler, it seems I'll be spending Shabbos in the family home in Far Rockaway, all by myself.

I must say I'm looking forward to taking a nice, long, hot bath. My apartment only has a shower, and I loathe showers. So that'll be nice. 'Course, I really ought to be packing up now and then zooming off to camp, instead of typing this journal entry. This is not where I expected these two paragraphs to go, but it is a good point... so I think I'll do that now. See y'all soon!
