 Welcome to Sub Rosa, a special section of RfP which houses rare and valuable fan fics by guest authors. This archive is by invitation-only. It's nearly all yaoi and shonen-ai. That means graphic sexual situations between and among males. (There's some yuri too... go grrrls!) If you're under 18, you are NOT allowed here. Flames and stealing will not be tolerated.

GW - There's a lot of Gundam Wing fics out there. A LOT. Thanks to the authors, RfP brings you Shusu's favorite reads.

A note on Sub Rosa-- you will soon see the 
tag on some stories. "Kaisaku" can mean an adapted story (kind of like fan fic), or a masterpiece. It can also mean an excavation, with kanji related to harvest. The stories marked are the best fan fic I've been able to dig up... the cream of the crop.
What does this mean? This is not an all-inclusive website. Mostly it is for Shusu's personal use, albeit thrown open for visitors. Kaisaku selections and GW fic selections are subject to her whims. In addition, many stories have been spell-checked and in some cases revised before being included. Authors are informed of this right off. I'm not out to offend anyone through exclusion. Likewise, readers are urged to seek out larger archives and read more by authors they like.
| RW/YST authors: This is kind of like the chicken-or-the-egg deal. If you want to be hosted here, and nowhere else, I'm going to direct you to a major archive. However, if I find you first, and you're in a tiny site of your own, then you'll get an invitation sooner or later. The only exception I'll make is if you want to keep your fic in your own site, but still want an audience... in which case I'll consider a link / recommendation before an invite. S'allright? S'allright. |
GAH! How do I get invited? Ummm... well... I've got to like it. So... I've got to have read it first? It should also be completed. Plus, if it's a more popular fic or a humongous epic, then you really don't need my help ^_^. And it's got to be well-written.
Here are the fuzzier guidelines. It should at least look like it's been beta-read. The angst must pull no punches nor go deathfic or NCS just for the hell of it. For comedy, the zanier the better-- and drawn-out humor is better than slapstick jokes. If it's a songfic, there should be more fic than song. Lemons should be juicy and as hentai as is tasteful; otherwise titillating shonen-ai is just as sexcellent too. The characters should be three dimensional *and* unique... well-written weepy Duos are great, but ho-hum, Shusu's read dozens of those. There must be some kind of direction (whether with an intricate plot or completely plotless) rather than babble.
Above all, the story must have voice. There are some fics in Sub Rosa which don't fit all these criteria. However, all these fics stand out in my mind. That's difficult since I've read (and recall) literally hundreds of fan fics.
Sub Rosa stories are individual, interesting, creative, daring. If you've written a story with these qualities, or better yet, know someone who has, then drop me a line. I'll take a look.
