Feeling More Feminine Without Leaving the House

There are a number of things I usually do to feel more like womanly, aside from getting fully dressed.  So hopefully they will work for you as well.

First, I usually keep all my body hair shaved.  This means everything from the neck down: chest, armpits, and legs.  I shave my pubic region like a woman's.  I also like to have a really close shave when I am going to be at home.  I know that this won't work for some people as it can tip off your SO.  But if your situation allows it, at least try shaving your legs.

Second, since I have long hair, I use a scrunchie or a hair clip at home.  Just having my hair in a bun helps me feel feminine, regardless of what else I may be wearing.  Those of you with short hair are going to have a problem; unless it is just long enough to create a feminine hairstyle.

Lastly, I'll log into chat rooms as my femme self.  It's quite a kick to be chatting away with women who don't realize that you aren't one of them.  I recently got into a really hot chat with a couple of bi- and lesbian women, and it was a real thrill.  I really felt like a woman, not to mention feeling accepted.

Other things you could try would be painting your nails, wearing jewelry and clip on earrings.  If you feel like a girl when you do it, it's the right thing to do.

Shaving makes me feel most feminine, but due to my dark hair and abundance of hair in my arms and hands, which is hard to ignore, I don't do this as much.  In addition, it is hard to do in the winter if you
like wearing shorts.

I am gifted in the hair department.  No sign of receding hair and in my mid thirties.  I also keep it a little below my showlders and it is naturally curly.  If I dry it right, it almost looks like I have a perm.  I will regularly keep it in scrunchies, ribbons, pins or hair clips.  They are very cheap and I have lots of them in different colors.

I have also spent some on make-up.  Sam's Wholesale sometimes carries large make-up kits which are very cheap and you don't have to worry about searching around in the make-up section of a department store or supermarket.  Unfortunately you restrict yourself in colors.  Of course, there are also some mail-order catalogs with good prices.  I mainly do my lips, eye lashes, perfume and nails.

While nails do take some time to apply and to get a good shiny finish, I find that this item makes a large difference in the way I feel.  If you haven't tried it, you should get some false nails (you will need to try
different lengths until you find ones you are comfortable with) and glue them on.  Don't worry about the glue.  While you may need to coat most of your nail to get them to stay stuck and be able to do normal things in them, if you keep the nail edges (sides are most important) free of glue, then you can just lift them off your nail without using any glue remover and most of the glue will come right off with the false nail.  Whatever is left can be flaked off using your real nails (i wouldn't use
a knife or other metal object since your real nails are likely to scratch).  You can remove the polish with polish remover just as you would with your own fingers, but must do so while they are glued or you
will make a mess.  Since feet usually stay in socks (unless you are going swiming) you can keep nail polish on your toe nails for long periods at a time.

I will typically wear panties most of the time.  You can find very pretty satin/silk/lace ones for sale regularly at most department stores including K-mart, Wal-mart and Target.  Of course, you will need an
understanding friend to help you out at these times or just overcome the anxiety.  I haven't fully gotten there, but the times I have, I never got weird looks or comments about what I was buying, even though it may have been obvious.  When I get home I will put on a bra and silicon enhancer forms (you can get them for $20 by mail).  After a little while, they will become the same temperature of your body, and if
placed right, will make you feel you have small breasts.

There is an overabundance of cheap jewelry out there and it is easy to build up a good collection over time.  Pierced earlobes are fairly common among men these days but I still haven't gotten the courage to
get mine done (the earring selection is several orders of magnitude larger for pierced ears).  I just don't know how I would explain it to friends and family.  I've found clip-on earrings will leave a mark if
you leave them on too long and then you have to cover it up with make-up and there's always a risk of being caught.

I will also take bubble baths regularly as the smell is so sweet and my skin feels softer afterward (maybe it's psycosomatic).

And finally clothes.  I like wearing dresses mostly but will ocassionally wear leggins and tops or skirts and blouses.
